Traveling from Sydney to the outrageous Jenolan Caves and just beside these gigantic entrance rocks, the unbelievable blue(est) lakeI’ve ever seen in my life. This day trip was one of the most incredible experiences, because of the feeling how utterly mystical nature’s underground territories can be to us tiny humans in comparison.  

 

The Jenolan Caves are limestone caves located within the Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve in the Central Tablelands region, west of the Blue Mountains, in Jenolan, Oberon Council, New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The caves and 3,083-hectare reserve are situated approximately 175 kilometres west of Sydney, 20 kilometres  east of Oberon and 30 kilometres (19 mi) west of Katoomba.

 

Fun facts, but when you take your rented car or tour from Sydney tot he caves it becomes and adventures day for sure. It’s worth visiting the blue lake first and to walk along it. There is a beautiful, peacesful path that is leading you further down into the bush. After an hour of walking it will lead to a pick-nick point but not further. If you’rr really lucky and quiet you can find wallabies along the way and for those of you who have egal eyes you might also see some Koalas.

 

Inside the caves you find these ocean blue springs, which you can walk along safely.Deeper into the gaves the rock formations in German called „ Stahlaktiten“ are beautifully lid up so you can admire their depths in every single shape.
